My twitter software developers manifesto PDF Print E-mail

My presentation from #devnest 03 generated a healthy debate with twitter corp and the attendees of the devnest meeting. I've posted the presentation in its entirety here, and my written notes about it. Ive also captured and posted the comments I got at the devnest event itself and afterwards.

Nobodys ever accused me of being too utopian before. Its the best thing Ive ever been called.

Dont let people 'mine' your Out of Office message data PDF Print E-mail

One of my colleagues used to have 'I am out of the office and your email will be automatically deleted and forgotten' as his OOO message. Extreme? Maybe, but accurate and realistic.

I dont like OOO messages much but they are at least useful for telling people why you are unable to reply and what to do about it. But you dont want to let them be a little door into your private information so heres a way to avoid that.
