To scroll fast to the top of an applications view

I cant believe Ive had an iPhone for over a year and didnt know what if you tap the status bar where the clock is displayed at the top of the screen in any application with a view that scrolls it scrolls all the way to the top. Easy when you know. Did you know? In Safari it also brings up the URL input field to type in a new website.
